Is the Verity mod on CurseForge?
Short answer: No. The Verity mod for Minecraft is not on CurseForge, Modrinth, Prism, or any non-Lunar launcher. The original Verity mod CurseForge listing was taken down in early 2026 when ThatMobb moved the mod exclusively to Lunar Client. If you search for "Verity mod on CurseForge" today, you will find three categories of results, all of which should be avoided:
- Removed / dead listings — the original Verity CurseForge page now redirects to a 404 or a generic landing. The mod JAR is no longer downloadable from CurseForge.
- Outdated builds — copies of the Verity mod from before the move, often labeled 1.16 / 1.18 / 1.19. These will not load on current Minecraft versions and may not contain the AI companion at all.
- Malware and copycat mods — anything that claims to be "Verity mod CurseForge edition" or "Verity mod for Forge via CurseForge" is either a virus, a different mod entirely, or a redirect to a phishing site.
The only safe sources for the Verity mod today are the Lunar Client modpack store (for 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.21) and the Esylmu GitHub release (for the 1.21.1 community fork on NeoForge). Any "Verity mod on CurseForge" download you find outside these two sources is unsafe.
Why was the Verity mod removed from CurseForge?
The Verity mod CurseForge listing existed from the mod's first public release in late 2025 through early 2026. The mod was taken off CurseForge when ThatMobb, the mod's author, signed an exclusive distribution deal with Lunar Client. From early 2026 forward, the Verity mod is published only through the Lunar Client modpack store.
If you are asking "is verity mod on CurseForge in 2026?" the answer is still no — the original listing is dead, and ThatMobb has stated in the Verity mod Discord that the move is permanent.
There were three reasons behind the move:
- Modloader hooks — Verity's facial animation pipeline and dynamic AI engine depend on Lunar Client's proprietary modloader shim, which exposes internal hooks the mod needs at runtime. CurseForge uses standard Forge / Fabric, which does not expose these hooks. The mod would not run correctly even if it stayed on CurseForge.
- Audio and replay integration — Verity's spatial audio (8-12 simultaneous voice channels) and replay system rely on Lunar Client's audio bus and replay format. These are not part of the standard Forge / Fabric modloader API.
- Distribution simplicity — Lunar Client provides a single signed channel with auto-updates. CurseForge requires the mod author to maintain JAR versions, write changelogs, and respond to community bug reports. With Lunar Client, the entire modpack auto-updates for all 847K players in a single push.
The 1.21.1 community fork (Verity-CE by Esylmu) is the only third-party Verity mod distribution, and it is published on GitHub — not CurseForge, not Modrinth, not anywhere else. The community fork exists because Lunar Client does not officially support 1.21.1.
Will the Verity mod come back to CurseForge?
No. ThatMobb has stated in the Verity mod Discord that the exclusive Lunar Client distribution is permanent for the foreseeable future. The technical reasons (modloader hooks, audio bus, replay format) make supporting Forge / Fabric on CurseForge impractical, and the distribution deal with Lunar Client makes it commercially unnecessary.
If you specifically need a non-Lunar install path, the only option is the 1.21.1 community fork on NeoForge — and even that is published on GitHub, not CurseForge. For 1.20.1, 1.20.4, and 1.21, Lunar Client is the only supported path.
For anyone still asking "is verity mod on CurseForge" in 2027 or 2028: the answer will continue to be no. The architecture and the deal both lock the mod to Lunar Client for the long term.
Where the Verity mod is actually distributed (not on CurseForge)
| Minecraft version | Launcher | Status | Where to get it | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 1.20.1 | Lunar Client | Live | Lunar Client modpack store | | 1.20.4 | Lunar Client | Live | Lunar Client modpack store | | 1.21 | Lunar Client | Live | Lunar Client modpack store | | 1.21.1 | NeoForge (community) | Live | github.com/Esylmu/Verity-CE |
Lunar Client downloads are signed by the Lunar Client team and verified. The 1.21.1 community fork downloads are signed by Esylmu and verified. Anything claiming to be a Verity mod on CurseForge in 2026 is not legitimate.
What about the Verity mod on Bedrock Edition?
The "Verity mod" on Bedrock Edition (Pocket Edition, Windows 10 / 11 Bedrock, console editions) is a completely different mod by different authors. It is unrelated to ThatMobb's Java Verity mod. They share a name only.
If you are on Bedrock Edition, you will not get the Java Verity mod. The two are built on different APIs:
- The Java Verity mod uses Lunar Client / NeoForge modloader hooks
- The Bedrock "Verity" mod uses the Bedrock Add-On / Behavior Pack system
The Java Verity mod has 847K downloads on Lunar Client. The Bedrock "Verity" mod has a different download count and a different community. There is no plan to port the Java Verity mod to Bedrock — the underlying APIs are not compatible.
If you search for "Verity mod on CurseForge" and find a Bedrock build, that is the unrelated Bedrock mod and is not what you want. To get the Java Verity mod, install Lunar Client on a PC.
Is there a Verity mod on CurseForge alternative I can use?
There is no CurseForge alternative for the Verity mod. The closest analogues:
- 1.21.1 community fork on NeoForge — same mod, different modloader, published on GitHub
- Bedrock "Verity" mod — different mod, different name origin, not what you want
- Decimation, RL Craft, ZITRONE — other horror / AI Minecraft mods, but none of them are the Verity mod
If you absolutely cannot install Lunar Client (work network blocks it, school computer, etc.), your options are:
- 1.21.1 community fork on NeoForge — install NeoForge for 1.21.1, download the Verity-CE JAR from github.com/Esylmu/Verity-CE, drop it into the mods folder. This works without Lunar Client. The downside is no auto-updates and a smaller community.
- Wait for an officially-signed non-Lunar release — none is announced, and there is no timeline.
How to spot a fake "Verity mod on CurseForge" download
If you are determined to search for a Verity mod on CurseForge (you will not find a legitimate one, but you will find fakes), here is how to tell them apart:
- "Verity mod CurseForge edition" — not a thing. There is no "CurseForge edition" of the Verity mod.
- File size under 5 MB — the official Verity mod JAR is 30 MB+ (with bundled assets and AI model weights). A 200 KB JAR is not the real mod.
- SHA mismatch — the official Verity mod has a signed hash on Lunar Client. Any third-party JAR with a different hash is not the official build.
- Asks for admin / system permissions — the official mod does not need admin. If a "Verity mod" installer asks for system-level access, it is malware.
- Promises "free Lunar Client" or "free Minecraft account" — the real mod is free and does not bundle Lunar Client; Lunar Client is a separate, official download. Any "free Lunar Client with Verity mod" bundle is a trojan.
- Hosted on a domain that is not curseforge.com — e.g. "verity-mod-curseforge-download.com" — is a phishing site.
When in doubt, do not download. Install Lunar Client from lunarclient.com and get the Verity mod from the official modpack store. Five steps, about three minutes, safe.
